Led by Coach Mauricio Coimbra — a former Pre-National Team player with a career across Uruguay, Argentina, Paraguay, and the United States — SCA Soccer brings international training and a clear pathway to collegiate play.
Head Coach Mauricio Coimbra
Mauricio Coimbra brings international playing experience and a proven development track record to Springfield Commonwealth Academy's soccer program. Originally from Uruguay — where soccer is deeply embedded in the culture — he trained at the academy of Club Nacional de Football, one of the country's most prestigious clubs, and was recognized at the national level as a Pre-National Team player.
His professional career spans Uruguay, Argentina, Paraguay, and the United States, giving him a global perspective on player development and competition. In the U.S., he competed with Western United Pioneers, now part of USL League Two, and understands firsthand the pathway to collegiate and higher-level play.
Since 2016, Coach Coimbra has helped build Western United Pioneers into one of the strongest rising programs in the region, guiding athletes through a structured development pathway.
